This class is for beginning to intermediate level students. No prior sculpture or welding experience is necessary. The emphasis of this class is the exploration of 3-dimensional form. Students will learn how monumental sculpture is produced through the creation of small-scale models, also called “maquettes”. Students will be introduced to the fundamental techniques of welding, cutting, grinding and shaping of steel to produce works of art. Most tools and equipment will be provided. Students will pay a $50 materials fee for sheet metal. (Please visit web site for supply list.)
